With the Weight Watchers Diet, you can start your free assessment on their website. The self-assessment covers your measurements (height, weight, age, etc.), background, and lifestyle. This assessment gives you your desired weight and Body Mass Index (BMI).
You then can join the program. One of the cornerstones of the diet, is they have meetings throughout the country. On their website, you can enter your zip code and it will list the locations of the meetings. On some days, there will be up to 4 meetings per day. This program is most similar to the Mayo Clinic Diet and the Jenny Craig Diet.
The amount of recommended allowances of protein, carbohydrates, and fat is within the daily allowable limits. You can eat as many fruits and vegetables as you wish since they are assigned a zero point value. The companies claim is you can lose up 2 lbs. per week. The membership is not fixed.
For many, this is the best diet to stick with. For others, counting points is tedious and does not fit well with their lifestyle. You can make it easier using a spreadsheet or even a smartphone app which has been created to simplify the process.
